The UNC northern campus has environmental approval
The Córdoba Province Secretary of Environment, Mr Juan Carlos Scotto, handed in to Mr Juri, UNC Rector, the conclusions on the environmental impact report that will enable the kick off of the works in 15 hectares located in the community of Estación Juarez Celman. In that site, UNC together with the Córdoba government, have planned to generate a significant educational pole, thus, responding to the new challenges of higher education ( 03. 19 .2021)
The Northern Campus facilities have already obtained the authorization from the Córdoba Province Office of Environment. Such authorization enables UNC to start the works of this innovative proposal.
The Córdoba Province Secretary of Environment, Mr Juan Carlos Scotto, delivered the conclusions obtained from the environmental impact report to Mr Juri regarding the 15 hectares located in Estación Juárez Celman, where UNC has projected this initiative.
Mr Ian Dutari, UNC Head of Strategic Institutional Planning, Mr Jorge Dutto, UNC Deputy Provost, and Ms Victoria Muccilo, Córdoba Province Deputy Secretary of Environment, and other provincial collaborators participated in the event.
By means of this Environmental Resolution, UNC is now ready to call for bids for the awarding of works. In the first stage, a 2,600 covered meter module, a square to hold events, and a paved drive will be built. The execution deadline is 10 months.
This building will house a trade and crafts school linked to the technological sector, a language department and an area especially suited for farming technology. The provincial government has planned to set up a PROA secondary school oriented towards software and bio-technology as well as a higher educational polytechnic college.
With respect to the construction of buildings, the UN targets for sustainable development linked to energy generation and waste management will be followed.
